Something New.

I will be starting the P90X workout program soon. My summer has been pretty uneventful, fitness wise. I really let myself down with the lack of biking. I have also let myself down with my fitness level. I will try my best to keep posting my progress.

Minnesota Ironman Ride

Today I rode in the Minnesota Ironman ride in Lakeville MN. 30 miles of wet windy roads. We got rained on most of the ride. This was my longest ride so far this year. I felt pretty good for most of the ride. The last 3 miles were pretty rough. The wind really took its toll. Overall it was a pretty fun experience.

Location: Lakeville
Temp: 50
Distance: 30 miles
Time: 2 hrs 30 min.

Elm Creek ride.

Another great ride at Elm Creek. Starting to feel really good during the entire ride. I just got my bike back from the bike shop. I got a tune up and a new chain. She rides like new again. I am pretty excited about the Ironman ride on Sunday. There is a chance of rain, but what is the Ironman ride without some rain.

Location: Elm Creek
Distance: 15 miles
Temp: 60
Time: 1 hr.

Around the River Again!

I had another great ride around the river. I am starting to feel a bit stronger on the hills, which is a good thing. I am gearing up for the Minnesota Ironman Ride in Lakeville MN next Sunday. It will be 30 miles of nice riding with about 4000-5000 other riders. Can't wait.

Sunday Ride

I had a nice ride at Elm Creek yesterday (Sunday). I extended my previous Elm Creek ride by adding on the 10 mile loop on the north side. There are 2 pretty hard hills to climb, but worth it at the end. It is a great place for hill training. I would add a map, but mapmyride.com is not responding right now. Check out the map form my first post for an overview of the great trails at Elm Creek.

Location: Elm Creek
Distance: 20 miles.
Temp: 65
Time: 1hr 30 min.

Second ride of the season!

Today I got off work early and wanted to see some new scenery. I rode up to the U of M campus across the river and back down to Minnehaha park. Great ride, all paved trails.

I have a new way of tracking my rides. MapMyRide.com. I will add maps as I go. This is going to be the best biking year yet.

First ride of the season!!

This is my attempt at blogging my bike rides this year. I want some way to track myself and keep myself on track. I have many goals this year, but I am not ready to put them down on paper. I live in Minnesota, so I only have about 6-7 months of good outdoor riding. Wish me luck!

I am planning some organized rides throughout the summer and I will be posting my progress. The first is the Minnesota Ironman ride in Lakeville on April 25th.

Well today was the first ride of the season for me. I went to Elm Creek Park Reserve and rode about 15 miles. Wow, my legs felt it, my lungs felt it, my bottom even felt it. The first few rides of the season are always the most painful.

Above is a map of Elm Creek, its the best!!

Location: Elm Creek.
